The living register

Every matter we open sits in one register: right type, jurisdiction, official number, owner of record, status, and the next official action. You can see the same register in the client portal after you sign in.

We reconcile the register against the UKIPO and, where instructed, against EUIPO, WIPO and selected national offices. Discrepancies — a lapsed renewal, an unrecorded assignment, a wrong address for service — are raised as actions, not footnotes.

Watching

A registration is not self-policing. We watch later UK applications in the classes you care about, and we watch the identical and near-identical marks that would confuse a customer. Hits come with a recommendation: oppose, observe, or leave.

Watching can also cover company names, domain registrations and app-store listings where those are the first place a copyist appears. We do not pretend a trade-mark watch catches every kind of misuse.

Reporting and transactions

Directors get a quarterly schedule: what is live, what is due in ninety days, what was filed, what was dropped, and why. On a sale, investment or lending the same schedule becomes the disclosure list.

We prepare the assignment, licence and security-interest documents that the registers require, and we file the recordals so the public record matches the deal that just closed.

Questions we are asked

Can you take over a docket from another firm?

Yes. We request the official correspondence, the last renewal receipts, and the current address-for-service forms. We then write to each office to record the change. Until that letter is on the file, the previous firm remains the address the office will write to.

Do you replace our solicitors?

No. We manage the portfolio. Where a hearing, a High Court claim or a regulated opinion is required, we instruct the solicitor or attorney you appoint and keep the docket current around their work.
